For the second year in a row, St. Croix’s West Gyul brought the food and the fun to Budhoe Park with another installment of the island’s newest and hottest festival, Tart Wars.
On July 19, Crucians and visitors swarmed Frederiksted all in the name of community building, good ole family fun and serious bragging rights to witness an epic battle between beloved Virgin Islands’ sweet treats, including coconut tart, guava tart, and pineapple tart.
Local bakers baked and sold the delicious treats, games were played, votes were cast, and ties were broken. In the end, the House of Coconut retained its title as St. Croix’s Best Tart for 2025.
While most people came for the delicious tarts, DBOW stayed for the fashion, which were equally sweet! If it’s one thing about Virgin Islanders, we love to take photos and post them.
Scroll below for some of the best looks of Tart Wars 2025.
