3 FRESH COLOR COMBOS TO PAIR WITH RED ON VDAY, OTHER THAN WHITE OR BLACK

Red has long been associated with love and romance—red hearts, red roses, red lips.

In the lead up to Valentine’s Day, I initially started writing about colors, other than red, that us tropical girls could wear for Love Day (or night). But as I continued to think things through, lots of outfit ideas with red started flooding in, so I surrendered.

Ladies, if you were already planning to wear red this Valentine’s Day weekend, here are some fresh color combos to consider that will have you standing out in a sea of classic red, white and black. Try any of these chic options and achieve sizzlin’ style on Valentine’s!

Baby Blue & Red

Baby blue is one of the chicest colors to pair with red. It’s my personal favorite! The softness of the blue paired with the vibrancy of the red gives the look a clean, modern feel you’ll instantly fall in love with. Execute this color combo in a variety of ways: baby blue dress with red heels; red blouse with flirty baby blue mini. How ever you choose to match it up, you’ll agree that baby blue and red is such a fun look to wear!

Chocolate Brown & Red

Chocolate brown has been trending for a few years now, and it doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. Lucky for us! Combine this deep and sultry color with red for a sexy day-to-night look on Valentine’s Day.

Yellow (or Mustard) & Red

This color combo could be a bit tricky, as you don’t want to risk appearing like a walking billboard for McDonald’s. Make it work by choosing one color as the dominant color and the other as the accent, like this gorgeous mustard ensemble with red shoes. Or, go bold with a statement top and classic bottom for an enviable fashion-forward look. And if need be, incorporate white to break up the intensity of red and yellow together and you’ll still create a Valentine’s Day look everybody will love!
