Businesswoman, tastemaker, television personality and entertainment executive Janeisha John, a bahn Crucian, was recently honored at the U.S. Virgin Islands Legislature for her “outstanding achievements, pioneering spirit, and significant contributions to the fields of entertainment, modeling, and television production, celebrating her role as a cultural ambassador, trailblazer, and inspirational leader of the Virgin Islands.”
The legislative session was convened on Nov. 14, in part, to award the former Miss St. Croix and other honorees with the Key to the Territory, the highest civilian honor bestowed upon Virgin Islanders.
A bevy of emotional testimonies, highlighting Ms. John’s inspiring journey from the shores of her native St. Croix to the shine of Hollywood, were given on her behalf by devoted family members, friends, and close associates. Ms. John herself, in heartfelt remarks, graciously accepted the honor, stating that “when you’re doing the things you love, and are passionate about it, to represent a people and a place that you are beyond proud of, you don’t stop to think about moments like this where you’re celebrated, you just do it because you love what you do and you love where you’re from. I’m very proud to be a Virgin Islander.”
As the ceremony aired on television and telephone screens across the territory, Dress Better on the Weekend couldn’t help but zero in on Ms. John’s chic and sophisticated ensemble. It featured a classic, white button-down underneath a burgundy pinstriped, pencil dress with a sweetheart neckline. So classy! Combined with her timeless pixie, demure gold accessories, and fresh ‘no-makeup makeup’ face, Ms. John’s overall look screamed a babe that’s all about her business!

GET THE LOOK
Ms. John is no stranger to impeccable dressing and style. She has graced the stages of national and international pageants and fashion shows, has been featured on the covers of global fashion magazines and in advertising campaigns for coveted brands, is often seen on Hollywood red carpets, and is an executive and regular (in full glam) on the Zeus Network, a television network she co-founded.
We couldn’t tell if Janeisha’s high-powered look at the Legislature was a one-piece, shirt/dress combo or if it was made up of separates, but here’s how you, too, can snag her gorgeous look to stand out at your next business event!
White Button Down
You should already have a crisp, white button down as a wardrobe staple. It can be worn in so many ways! In case you don’t already have one, check out this oxford from Zara’s ZW Collection or visit any of your favorite retailers. Janeisha’s blouse appears to have a lovely sheen to it, so this shirt is also a great choice.
