MONIKA IS FEMA’S FASHIONISTA
As a contracting officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Monika Miller has spent the last eight years providing much needed services to St. Croix residents following the 2017 storms.
On a random Wednesday afternoon, DBOW peeped her work style in the parking lot of a local grocer and asked her about it.
“My personal style basically goes by the way that I feel,” she explains. “I wake up in the morning and it depends on how I feel is how I dress.”
For instance, because it was Wednesday, Monika says she felt like dressing a bit more casual and sportier that day.
“Today, I dressed like this because it is Hump Day and I don’t really have to go into the office dressy, so I just put this look together,” she explains.
And, girl, was the look put together well! Monika paired a white logoed FEMA polo with dressy black joggers and open-toed, strappy, block-heeled sandals.
Agency chic!
And while this local professional draws her style inspo by being in touch with her feelings, she advises that people should dress how they wish to be addressed.
“You should dress as how you feel in the appropriate way,” she says. “Dress as if you’re going to meet a star or a professional person. You never know who you may meet, so that’s the reason why I dress the way that I dress.”
When she’s off the clock, Monika says her style leans toward the “sexy” side of fashion.
“But, like I said, I always dress in a way where I don’t know who I might meet,” she concludes.
